Autobody Collision Training Curriculum

ACT now! “Key Text” unlocks the technical door to effective apprentice training!

The Academy training text referred to as the “how-to” manual, is simplistically unique! The program curriculum is very effective at presenting, preparing, describing, and instructing the procedures for vehicle repair.

The text syllabus structure is in a simple no-nonsense form that is free from technical jargon that uniquely serves as a straight to the point, step-by-step directional guide ideally formatted to student tech training.

The curriculum is an excellent organizational teaching and training tool that enhances the relational communications between the veteran technician and the entry-level student with little or no experience. Organized communication is necessary to create skills, competency, and knowledge quickly for student advancement and productivity. No communication gap with this text! This makes it ideal for promoting quick learning and vital understanding from a student prospective, while eliminating the need for constant supervision on the training technician’s behalf.

This dual purpose design provides the tutorial information and descriptions of vehicle repair contained within the ACT text for the student, while also providing the technician with directive text to the initial starting points for effective training in any area of repair. It precisely directs and instructs a technician training leader, (who may or may not be familiar with training methods) on “how-to” set up, direct, manage, and control the training agenda for the student tech on a daily basis according to the workload scheduling of vehicles in process with maximum efficiency and minimal time.

For the students benefit the “how-to “manual provides recordable, retainable, reference material for consistent use in all areas of repair. The delivery method of the text material is in an easy, simple to follow format that gives continuous directional steps and instructions for the repair procedures. The text is designed to improve comprehension levels and understanding of the repair process which is vital to accelerated learning and skill task mastering in a very short period of time.

Once the attaching welds are cut, continue the separation procedure using a large grinder with a coarse disc, (24 grit) begin grinding the edge of the damaged outer panel of the assembly at the bottom corner until you see the panel separating (it will appear as a crack between the outer panel and door frame). Once you see the separation, continue moving around the door’s surface edge of the assembly in a similar fashion until completion.

The grinder should be flat to the panel’s surface with ample pressure applied. Be careful not to excessively grind into the door frame once separation is accomplished. Be cautious grinding around the wiring harness plug end which should be secured out of the immediate work area.

* Special note: after the grinding portion of separation is completed, the outer panel may still be secured to the door frame. To avoid prying them apart and risk damaging the door frame in the process, heat may need to be applied to the outer panel’s edge to break the glue bond.

Bonding material is also used between the outer panel and inner reinforcement bar.
